Helpful Tips For Keeping Your Motorcycle Safe During Transport

Blog

If you like to travel with your motorcycle or show it off at motorcycle shows, you probably have to transport it every now and then. Unfortunately, since motorcycles can be unstable without a rider, you could be worried about keeping your two-wheeled treasure in good condition when taking it from place to place. Fortunately, following these tips makes it a breeze to keep your motorcycle safe during transport.

Use an Enclosed Trailer

Don't take risks by putting your motorcycle on a traditional car trailer. It is likely to fall over or even fall off of the trailer if you aren't careful. Instead, look for an enclosed motorcycle trailer. These trailers are fully enclosed so you don't have to worry about your motorcycle falling off in the unfortunate event that it does fall over. Plus, since these trailers are designed to transport motorcycles, they provide the additional support that these two-wheeled vehicles need. Plus, you don't have to worry about the elements damaging your motorcycle, such as getting it dirty or bleaching the paint. Instead, you can keep it fully protected during your travels.

Use a Front Wheel Chock

Even though a motorcycle trailer is designed to house motorcycles while you're transporting them, it's best to take one more precautionary step to help prevent your bike from tipping over. You can purchase a front wheel chock from a motorcycle dealer. Basically, a front wheel chock is used to help brace the front wheel in place and attach it to the trailer. This helps hold your bike as stable as possible during your trip and will help prevent tip-overs if you go over bumps or are involved in a minor accident.

Protect it from Scratches

In the event that your bike does fall over or is bumped around during transport, you want to help prevent scratches as much as possible. Luckily, this can be done with a protective tarp and soft loops. Soft loops are made of protective foam and can be placed over the handlebars to protect them. You can also use a standard tarp or even a soft blanket to cover up your bike. Then, if it does fall over, there is a reduced chance of scratching or other damage.

As you can see, there are a few different tips that you can follow to protect your motorcycle during transport. Keep these in mind, and look for an enclosed motorcycle trailer sale.

Outstanding Automobile Repair

Understanding more about the type of car that you have can help you understand the best ways to maintain it, and how to tell if there’s trouble brewing under the hood before you end up stranded. That’s why, when I found a car make that I liked, I kept going back to it every time I bought a new car. It’s also why I use a mechanic that specializes in repairing and maintaining cars made by my specific manufacturer type. Over the years, I’ve learned so much about what makes this particular car work, and what kind of quirks come with this type of vehicle. I started this blog to share some of that information and help other car owners learn to effectively maintain their automobiles and recognize the potential signs of trouble.
