Body lotion can become a good-send when you are travelling in higher elevations as a little used before and after travelling at these elevations can help prevent your skin from getting dry and itchy. Baby wipes will probably be appreciated on those days when it is impossible to find a decent shower.
Earning your keep
Since a good trucker job can earn you anywhere from about $25,000 to $70,000 per year (depending on the company and jobs you take), it would be wise to pay attention to what you need for the job. While your job may or may not include some amount of heavy lifting, if you are going solo on the road, there will probably be times when you need to check your truck, fasten riggings or pull tandems. To help with those, it is best to always have with you a well-fitted pair of heavy gloves, a pair of overalls and some knee-pads.
When pulling tandems, fifth wheels or other similar situations, it is recommended that you use a radiator or small engine belt.
